When I first saw the teaser of the Kdrama “Mine” on Netflix, I got very excited. From the teaser alone I can definitely say that this drama oozes with strong and powerful women. As a believer of the feminist movement, I was very happy that a drama like this one is again shown on the mainstream streaming platform. The feels of Sky Castle, World of the Married, and Penthouse came rushing in; that alone was a solid enough reason to binge the drama. It’s another drama from TvN replacing the time slot previously held by Vincenzo.

SBS’s drama series Taxi Driver starring Lee Je-Hoon is certainly big in its hometown of South Korea. The recent survey done by Nielsen Korea on the two part 7th episode rendered a nationwide average rating of 12.9% (4th) and 15.1% (2nd) respectively. As a viewer of the drama, it is not a wonder why this story caught so much viewership. It not only shows the social ills of South Korea as reflected in the lives of the abused and exploited but also it created this dark hero that extracts vengeance on behalf of those who suffered injustice.

As someone who has been a fan of How To Get Away with Murder and Viola Davis’ tour de force performance, I was extremely hyped that Korean Drama is doing something similar using a law school and aspiring law students as a backdrop of a narrative that navigates the intricacies of law and the collusions the characters will make to hide and fight for truth and uphold the scales of justice.

By now we can all agree that Vincenzo is one of the hottest and most viewed dramas right now. In Netflix, it has never left the top 10 shows in the Philippines. Not only that, in the recent survey done by Nielsen Korea, the drama has landed a 10.572% nationwide viewership in South Korea for its 16th episode. We can all put it on how the story is beautifully written and how the characters are so dynamic with its unique combination of action, thrill, suspense, violence, and comedy.

Gang Seo-hae and Han Tae-sul’s quest to reset time has finally come to an end. The 16 episode drama culminated in a circular fashion, tying the plot pieces in a unified whole. Albeit, this show did not receive as much traction in South Korea as manifested in its ratings which ended with an average nationwide rating of 4.363% as recorded by Nielsen Korea, I actually enjoyed the narrative and how it employed the principles of time as one of its thematic pursuits…
