Say Goodbye to Dullness and Get that Dewy Look with this Korean Skincare Routine

Dewy skin is a sign of healthy skin. At this time where there is not a shortage of skincare products in the market, achieving that youthful glow is not impossible. All you need is the perfect layering and combination of products with the right ingredients that hydrate, nourish, and moisturize.

Here is a detailed night routine that will help you get that dewy look you’ve always wanted. So, Read, Learn, and say goodbye to dullness…

Step 1. First Cleanse

The first step for any skincare routine especially during the night is to cleanse. As you end the day, you carry with you dirt, grime, gunk, and pollution. It is imperative to remove all that effectively and the best way to do it is the double cleanse method. For the first cleanse, you can use a simple micellar water or an oil cleanser like this Nivea 3-1 Micellar Water. The micellar water will remove the sunscreen or makeup you wore during the day as well as the dirt and excess sebum you’ve accumulated throughout the day.

Step 2. Second Cleanse

It’s not a double cleanse without a second cleanse. This stage will remove the remaining dirt as well as the film that the micellar water has on your skin. The foam cleanser used in this routine is the COSRX Salicylic Acid Daily Gentle Cleanser which contains botanical extracts and 0.5% salicylic acid that will whisk away impurities and excess sebum without leaving your skin overly stripped. For a  properly cleansed face will allow the next products to penetrate better into your skin.

Step 3. Exfoliate

One of the best ways to achieve that youthful dewy look is through exfoliation. This will slop-off the dead skin cells found in your stratum corneum (epidermis) thus revealing a healthier and younger skin underneath. In this routine, The Ordinary’s Lactic Acid 5%+ HA is used. As the name suggests, this acid contains 5% lactic acid which is an AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) that helps treat hyperpigmentation and dark spots while also removing white heads. Plus, this also contains HA (hyaluronic acid) for that extra hydration and plumpness. With this, you can have that even skin tone and minimal pore appearance- perfect for that Dewy skin that you want.

Step 4. Toner/Essence

Toner and essences are two of the best stages in a skincare routine that will really help you glow. This is the step where you can pack on hydration for that plump and dewy look. If you have been into this blog, you probably know this essence by now since this appears in almost all skincare routine articles I have posted. This is the Purito Fermented Complex 94 Boosting Essence. What is good about this product is its 3-in-1 functionality. It is perfect for the returning skin’s ph balance, skin layering, and skin toning. This has different fermented ingredients that help provide brightening benefits. Lactobacillus/Rice ferment, Bifida ferment lysate, Saccharomyces/Mistletoe ferment extract, Imperata Cylindrica Root ferment extract, and Soybean ferment extract are the major ingredients of this essence.

This truly has a powerful blend of plant extracts and fermented ingredients to give you that nourished and healthy glow in just one full routine.

Step 5. Essence/Serum

To add to that shine and nutrition, this next step uses the One Thing Propolis + Honey Extracts. Propolis is excellent in combating inflammation as it contains anti-inflammatory properties as well as antibacterial ones. It calms and soothes the skin which is what you need if you want that dewiness on your skin. On the one hand, honey is perfect for hydration and moisturization support even the driest of skins. Hydration + Moisturization = DEWY skin.

This product from One Thing is perfect for all that. The texture of this essence is watery and it absorbs really well. It is not sticky considering it is made from propolis and honey. It has a natural shine into it, thus, giving you that extra glow after application.

Step 6. Moisturization

A night routine is never complete without a moisturizer. This step will lock-in the hydration and moisture you have layered on in the previous steps so as to prevent TEWL (trans-epidermal water loss) or the passive evaporation of water from our skin which can happen even when you are sleeping. So, to prevent that, you need to moisturize and the best way to do that is through this Beta-Glucan Daily Moisture Cream from IUNIK.

Beta-Glucan in skincare not only soothes and calms irritated skin but it also acts as an effective anti-aging factor to firm and plump fine lines and wrinkles. It also is a good humectant that helps lock in moisture, In fact, some studies have shown that Beta-Glucan is 20% more hydrating than hyaluronic acid. The intense hydration that this will provide for your skin is what you exactly need to wrap-up your routine.

This Beta-Glucan cream from IUNIK has 30,000 ppm of the ingredient which means it has 3% Beta-Glucan in it. Not only that, this cream also boasts the Red Fruits Complex (Prunus, Raspberry, Strawberry, Peace, and Punica) extracts for that added nutrition and hydration. It’s a light moisturizer and absorbs fast too. It feels luxurious on the skin. It’s the perfect moisturizer without feeling heavy and greasy after.

With this routine, you surely can achieve that plump and dewy look you always aspire to have. It may seem long but in reality, it’s fast, it’s easy and it’s really fun to do. Dewy and glowing skin is achievable if you work on it and if you include the perfect products and ingredients in your routine. Happy skin days ahead!
